What is Orderly Liquidation Value (OLV)?
Last updated July 2026
Definition
Orderly liquidation value (OLV) is the estimated proceeds from selling assets over a reasonable period, typically a few months, rather than immediately.
Also known as: OLV
OLV sits between fair market value and forced liquidation value. It assumes a seller with enough time to find buyers, but not the full marketing window of a fair-market sale.
Lenders and finance teams use OLV as a conservative recovery estimate for surplus and idle assets.
