Spend under management is the share of total spend actively controlled through sourcing, contracts, and procurement processes. Higher is better.

Also known as: SUM

Spend outside management — maverick and tail spend — leaks negotiated savings and adds process cost. Raising spend under management is a core procurement KPI.
